Just curious.

Many marinas use (ribbed) balau timber for their walkways.

It seems pretty good in terms of wear - to my mind perhaps more durable than teak. The yellow version is quite teak-like in appearance.

Has anybody here had experience of using it for decking a boat (non-structural)? If so, does it take a bend as in a swept deck? Plusses/minuses?

It's a lot cheaper than teak too.

Might have a small project where I could use it - it would save a few pennies.
