CO ( carbon monoxide) alarms I think you mean

LifeJackets could be added to your list

Done all on the list except MOB drill .
I guess in the Med the warm water reduces the sense of urgency .
There’s a MOB button on the plotter ,never pressed it either .
Also replaced the ER fire extinguisher it’s now dated for the next 5 years .
Replaced ERIB bats again +5 Y and sent it off for recertification/ testing .

Checked flare pack date , next Month they expire so they will be replaced pretty soon .
Also found some old out of date packs ( hidden away ) that really need disposing too .As the Fr I think fine for carrying out of date flares even if you have a fresh set of indate .
Have a 2018 French log book / bloc with the up to date rules .
Starting to get a little increased anxiety with Brexit and all that the that the French may start to disregard flagging for boats permanently moored in there waters .Your are fine on a temporary transit btw .
Thus treating permanent moored boats ( what ever flag ) as the same as there own Fr flagged with regards to inspection / fines etc .
I’ve seen them fine there own - basic stuff like a rib with 3 family’s -12 pax and not enough life vests etc .Even making the kids wear them to check if they actually are fit for purpose, so not just counting them .
They have started last year apply the “ permanently in Fr water “ principle to VAT on fuel even if charter and crew social
Social charges / tax on foreign flagged boats .
So basically this year I,am aligning to there rules and practices which are clearly written down in there “ bloc “
Previous years I assumed flying a red mean,t we were exempt.
Don,t want to be the one find out it’s is not .

Off at the end of the month for a 1 month trip to Holland haven't been to Holland (by boat) for over 20 years hopefully we will get as far as the Friesland islands. Taking two newbies across the channel for the first time as well. Leave from Windsor the Wednesday before bank holiday.
All checks except MOB done

Not just tested, but also replaced plus added a brace of extra fire extinguishers. You're late this year :D

Check fire extinguishers every few months - except the auto one under the cockpit sole (over fuel tank), checked that one in October.
Checked lifejackets. Ours are new last year as we switched to automatic - old ones were manual as we launched/recovered each trip, but now berthed afloat.
No gas, no gas alarm. Have CO alarm, but not fitted yet as a) open boat and b) no heating yet. (Have a Webasto to fit, so will add alarm at same time.
Not done MoB in a long while... :(

We changed boat last year, moving up from 16' to 25' so we could extend our cruising area. Launched in December and so far only covered the same grounds. Looking to get to Lyme Regis / Westbay in next couple of weeks (from Torquay) and then Salcombe/Plymouth in June. Thereafter, looking to get to Weymouth in June/July (cruise in company first time over Lyme Bay) and possibly Falmouth late August. Boat is single 2002 diesel with low hours, so building up confidence slowly. We did a 7 hour / 60 mile non-stop run a couple of weeks ago as a bit of a shankedown - locally around Torbay, the Dart and Start Bay with a mix of cruising, WOT and tickover. A few more local trips without hiccup and we'll be ready to go further. Quite cautious, so not quite ready for Guernsey yet! :)
