My idea for today is one i jointly ripped off from Tripadvisor and Mogy in his post below. Essentially, there are now enuf YBW posters for every single marina in the uk to have a ybw forumite as contact/expert/whatever (and some to have more than one), and same for quite lot of marinas outside the uk too. Done properly this could be really useful. Done badly and it would be rancid like that "interesting places" rubbish map thing. Hm. Probably forget it...

Good idea if it gets off the ground I would volunteer for Cardiff Bay not sure I like the term "expert"though experts allways worry me.Local contact I could live with.I think it would be an idea to have 2 or 3 contacts per location where possible as some on here have been known to bu$$er off sailing now and then.

Wouldn't that be an encouragement to some of the more loonie loons that lurk here to travel afield bringing their idiosyncratic interpretations of COLREGS (inc. nav lights), rafting etiquette, and general right-wing tendencies with them. In turn this could encourage the border guard to extend their vigilant antics beyond the soft deserving targets in the south.

Unless you could devise some way of filtering access to the information only to those who can pass a rigorous COLREGS exam; provide at least 4 referees - 2 of whom must sail MABs - to attest to their good character; and can provide evidence of willingness and fiscal ability to get a round in. Or you could restrict access to undefaced blue warrant holders!
