YBW Lounge at next SIBS/LIBS?

With over 20,000 members, would it not be feasible to have a Forum Lounge at the Boat Shows possibly with joint sponsorship with IPC, MDL, Volvo, etc. Through my drunken haze, I remember someone suggesting this at LIBS and I'm sure that the idea must have legs. There must be a huge marketing value in having such a large 'captive' audience.

Failing that, could we have an ammendment to the Calendar so that hyperlinks of the usernames could be put on the data that you are attending.

It seems a shame that many forum members attended and were unable to meet up because they didn't know others even though, as in my case, they (Becky) may have been standing a few feet away.

I had no problem logging in at the show....then again I was in the media lounge getting served tea in comfort watching you lot trying to find your way around the place. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I had no problem finding my way around. I came in at the entrance and the nice show people had put every stand that I wanted to visit between there and the Guinness Tent. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

if there's 20,000 members then surely we have the whip hand? We should designate various "show venues" (pow, another pub, and some other pubs as well) and invite the show attendees to cart their gear through for our consideration, inspection, criticism and derision, hm? This wd be far cheaper for everyone and their only cost would be a few (hundred thousand) beers. No entrance fee either. The larger stuff might haveto land in the car park for a while before being moved on. We don't need the engine really, do we? Not people land at the caterpillar stand and say "oh right - i had no idea they were like that - i'll have six!"

Whats the RYA lounge like at Excel. Its the only place where you could get proper food on aplate and sit down at Earls Court. Even if it did cost a months wages! Only time I ever took the membership card out.

It cost me £26.00 for 2 of us food was nothing to shout about but not bad & plenty on the plate. comfortoble airy room & nice big tables....................Nat.

just think it could be manned/ staffed by forum members, ...................oh........wait..................if there was a bar...............ER ..........................it could make a good profit ........depending on who mans the Bar!!!!!!!!!!
