After a couple of years of flying the forum flag and keeping an eye out for others flying same, I finally attracted some attention with mine this w/e.

We were in Yarmouth rafted 4 deep and this chap (also in our raft) popped his head up to say hello - "GC1" He assured me some on here would know him - nice chap, had loads of gadgets on board - but best of all a full beer fridge and not afraid to share! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Also another forum flag on a flybridge Princess "Felix" and a chap called "DAKA", again really nice chap.

Yarmouth was a really super w/e - Old Gaffers rally (old sailing boats!!!!!!) but still a fab carnival spirit and loads for the junior ship mate to do and see! Obviously I forgot the camera (- as usual!) so sorry no photos.

Fly the forum flag and say hello to others who do likewise.

Mike

Trouble with the forum flag, is many see it as a work of art and it only comes out on state occasions. Others fly it permenantly and wear it out. I tend to fly mine, when on board. However I forget some times.

Just shows the flags power, free beer where ever you fly it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So what was the name of GC1's boat then? That was a rare sighting as GC1 and Daka usually can't be together in the same dimension - a bit like Dr Who and Billie! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Something like "Memory Maker"?
It's a very smart Cranchi 34. If it's doing less than 28kts, you have the wrong boat.

Hi Mike,
Very nice meeting both of you, I kept quiet about my ID in case you didnt appreciate my sense of humour /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I assume Pete told you in the morning, there were a few in Yarmouth I recognised but only managed a shout from one or two.
Now you know my boat you are welcome anytime, the kids can play while we have a beer /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

cheers
Pete

Hi Pete, took me a minute to realise it was you.

Nice reversing by the way, your crew look well trained when you left.

On sunday morning we walked through to Freshwater Bay, lovely walk.

We were at the gaffers on harold hales. Met up with GC1 a couple of times.

On the way there of Friday we, along with another boat, were heading to the solent from Chichester and noticed a Chinook helicopter buzzing around.
Next thing it was no more than 40' above the water coming at us from behind. it flew straight between us at an amazing speed and continued for about another 500mtrs before banking off and heading for the Portsmouth area. Absolutely fantastic.

Hi Ben,

we also went to freshwater, we took the dinghy and no speed restriction signs /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The wine was £6-50 a glass /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
A couple walked out without drinking it in disgust.

It was the late tide that caused me to be late with the genny , thanks for reversing compliments, I had a bit of practise last week /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Cheers
Pete
