Good evening all,

I'm thinking of another small yacht and the above tempts me. I would be grateful for any and all views as to the good and bad bits.

In particular, I read in the PBO review in 2021 that to get to 4 kn took some effort in otherwise good conditions. A few weeks ago I was talking to a Yarmouth 23 owner who passage planned at 4.5 kn and had just crossed the Channel at 5 kn minimum.

Also anyone experienced astern with a long keel on one ? I anticipate a fair amount of solo sailing so want to factor this in too.

Thanks in advance.

My parents have a Yarmouth 23, it’s a fab boat. Goes really well too. Makes far less leeway than I’d have imagined.
Seems ok in astern - my dad fitted a 3 bladed prop, an upgrade on the original 2 blade - which has been a significant improvement.
