Prevously I sent out some Seatalk to USB YAPP boards. These connect to your Seatalk bus and convert the data to NMEA 0183 format that enters a computer via a USB cable. When plugged in it appears as a COM port that the likes of OpenCPN and MaxSea can connect to. Well I had more requests than I made, so I made some more. This time however, it comes in a small bulkhead mountable black box. Here it is, photo-bombed by Cat...

Here it is with the box closed and the cable connected...

Now dedicated followers of YAPP will know of the grief I have had drilling holes in ABS, and this one was no better. I finally bit the bullet and bought some proper drills for plastic which made it all a whole lot better, but a few boxes were sacrificed on the way again.

There's more detail on the previous thread here...

The following people said that they would like one, and I'll contact them again to see if they still do...

pemborkeshirepromise, silver-fox, boreades, sailor22, yotter, oceanmaster, Tom Brewis, mark52

If anyone else wants one then send me a PM.

Seatalk is a trademark of Raymarine.

That's a brad bit, used mainly for dowelling in wood, bit if it works ...

They are sold for plastic as well. The sharp teeth on the circumpherence score a ring on the perimeter before much else is removed. This seems to stop the gouging that takes place when the angle of a metal drill reaches the surface. Being new and sharp helps as well.
