Looks good value, but my YAPPing efforts are not going to allow me to afford one. A significant number of recipients that I have sent YAPPs to have never made any contribution at all leaving me out of pocket. In total I have broken even, but only just.

Views of discussed have already been raised on this thread:

Well I am upping the Anti...

Please vote in the above pole... It is a public pole, so we can see how you vote...

Angus can you please let us know what "significant numbers" are....

PS if you did not receive my payment I will check and resend but I believe you should of got it...
PPS Apologizes to the one who has voted Option 4 already it was meant to say"Name and shame immediately, then let the forum keel haul. hang um and shoot um until they are dead (well at least shamed publicly on the forums)... But it would not let me make statement that long...

A bit ashamed that it took me about ten days to send payment but I am a very disorganised. Having said that - it was two months ago! Angus was gracious enough not to chase me for those ten days so maybe a pm to all those who haven't paid yet? BTW, cracking gear, pleeeeease keep up the good work.

I send a reminder once a month for 3 months and then give up. It's about 15%. The excess on other people's contributions covers it. I'm not going to make a big fuss about it as I quite like the idea of my small bits of kit on boats in faraway places.

It is helpful if payment details are sent at the time as I always like to pay upfront.....:p and leaving it over a month before a gentle nudge and supply of payment detail..... which is now completed, within a few hours of details.

Excellent product by the way!!

I voted for keel hauling. Much more embarassing, no?

Can we ask Angus to list those who have paid?
This is less provocative and a prod to those who have not.

Additionally, if anyone has paid and his name is not on the list, he can take action.

I know Angus had a problem establishing that my payment was correctly identified as mine.

Alternatively, we could generate our own list of those who have received and paid. In fact, I will start it and others can add by quoting;-

Graham Wright, 2 off, paid,
………
………
………

I will hold my hands up and admit i am one of the shameless ones .

I have just received a PM from Angus to remind me to cough up and now seen this post.

My public apologies to Angus - not intentional believe me.

I'm not going to be naming anyone. Using a payment model inspired by Dylan of try before you buy and pay what you think it's worth I accept that some people will forget, some will send it back, others go on holiday for the summer, a few will ignore my reminders, but the majority will make a contribution within a month or two. I have learned that people who request a device who have just joined and never made a post are the most likely to default, so for those I now ask for payment up front. I'm a bit embarrassed that this thread is here at all as I didn't intend it to be. Hopefully now it will quickly sink off the bottom of the page into forum obscurity.

There's no reason to offer a try before buy if you are happy to refund any dissatisfied customers.

Just stick to standard mailorder practice and ask for payment with order.

ps will pm you are list of voltages from the Raymarine fluxgate as I have a spare which I can turn by hand the full 360degrees. I have also devised (I think) a solution to the big change in signal when the hdg crosses zero degrees - ie the voltage changes from on extreme to the other which would indicate a big heading drift when there isn't one.

Angus, Sorry if your embarrassed it was never meant to be that way... It was meant as positive to be positive encouragement to get people to pay...

I will not post on here again if you want it removed I will or you can ask the mods (mods if you are reading and Angus requests please delete)...

If it helps get you a few more pennies in to future projects, then good all for the better....

Sorry for any embarrassment caused.
