YAPP enthusiasts: 24MHz 8-Channel Logic Analyzer for under £5

i think its a shame that these chinese companies rip off the hardware of good companies like saleae.

For those not so gifted - what does it do?

You plug it into your circuit and it shows whether there's any logic at all in what you are trying to do. Never got a peep of the darned thing with my circuits. :)

For a sensible answer, the first 31 words on the Wikipedia entry are fairly straight forward...

A logic analyzer is an electronic instrument that captures and displays multiple signals from a digital system or digital circuit. A logic analyzer may convert the captured data into timing diagrams...

After that it gets all geeky.

So, handy for anyone doing electronics. Also, with a suitable attenuating lead, it can answer questions such as: Is my NMEA/SeaTalk/Transducer output there? Essentially it functions as an oscilloscope, but without giving the magnitude of the signal.

For under a fiver, what's to lose?

[Apart from a fiver of course]

Much more useful for digital electronics than an oscilloscope, especially old fashion non-storage types. Anyone want to buy a Tektronix 2236 surplus to my requirements? :)
