Yanmar Tachos LCD Hours Display

Hi
Can anybody help the LCD hours displays in the Tachos of the new boat I have bought are not readable, Are they replaceable or is it a new tacho if you want them original. If I can get a reading from them I would be happy to put separate hour gauges in. Anybody know of a solution

I don't think there is a cure. When I bought my boat all 3 (3 engines) LCDs in tacho's were barely legible. I didn't think it was worth the expense to replace so I had an analog hour meter fitted and got the dealer give me a statement on his letter headed paper stating that 'at the time of fitting the new meter, hour reading was 302 hours'.

This had been discussed with regard to Volvo and VDO tachometer /hour meters over on Reader to reader several times.

One thing to try is to remove the tachometer and store it in a warm place like by a hot water cylinder over the winter to dry it out.

These has also been discussions about replacing the LCD display.
