Can anyone help with where to get thermoswitch and oil pressure switch for a Yanmar 3JH?

Bloke helping me re-wire the boat wants to rig up an earth return so the switches need two poles.

Please help I need to go sailing!!!

?????

The standard units are 'earthed through the engine .... i.e. the engine is the common negative ground. Why would you want individual negative returns when one nice fat one does the job?

sorry forgot to say it's a steel boat ...my understanding is that an insulated earth return is the best way to go to prevent corrosion ....i'm no expert but thats what i've been told.
although another engineer i spoke to says he installs engines all the time in steel fishing boats with engine as common ground as you say ?!

I don't know about the Yanmar, but some Volvo engines are completely insulated from the boat and gearbox. (I know mine is). This means that you can use the standard switches, but make sure that you keep the engine block and ancillaries from touching the steel of the boat and make sure your engine mounts are OK.

Insulated return starter motors and alternators are an extra cost so the Volvo answer sort of makes sense. You could see if your Yanmar is the same?

Got hold of Matthew at ASAP supplies who knows his stuff so ordered the bits
Got to get this sorted before I launch this year ....last engine had no alarms and had to change 2 head gaskets as a result. Complete pain in the butt
