Any recomendations for Yanmar spares. Marine power is the one that always comes up on a search. Is there anywhere else that is cheaper or are they competitive?

Try getting your Yanmar spares abroad - in the UK all agents have to get their parts from Barrus.
Barrus is the sole importer for the UK market, hence you will roughly get the same price everywhere.
We usually got our parts direct from Yanmar Europe (in Holland). When they said we were in the UK and had to get our parts from Barrus we claimed to be a yacht in transit and that the local dealer had no stock.
Usually got the part in 3/4 days - and even after postage it worked out as about Euro for pounds (a roughly 30% saving).
Maybe not worthwhile for just a filter or impeller, but for the pricey bits... To quote Tesco: every bit helps
