Yanmar Parts Supplier

If you’re on the East Coast, try French Marine. It’s still a family firm and the then proprietor broke a holiday in Scotland to help out one of my mates who asked him a question at SIBS.

I have had excellent service from Marine Power in Bursledon, but two take-overs, by Deacons then Dean & Readyhoff, they seem to have lost their way a bit. They sold off Pete’s “come-in-handy” “salvaged” spares so for parts, they’re just an ordinary Retail outlet and don’t seem to keep a lot of spares. The technicians are as good as ever, at least the ones who stayed, but I’m not even sure about their “impartial” advice any more.

Oh yes, one more thing, beware of Chinese “pattern” parts. I had a problem with an alternator and a friend had one with a starter motor.
