At the risk of becoming the new-boy bore on the subject of the Yanmar 1GM mixing elbow I have found the very same item for sale from Torreson Marine for $114.39.

Same part No. Delivery charge small (maybe $11.00- $14.00) Add in a little tax (to be advised) and I'm still well shy of the UK price of £143!

See, all it took was 6 days of solid, 24hours a day Interworld Webnet snurfig! Oh and maybe the Mafia would get my card number and hold me and my family to ransom, for ever- but hey, it would save a quid or maybe more!

A result. Or am I kidding myself?

I suppose its a matter or time and reward. There are variations in price of everything. Some areas, the UK is quite good. Others very expensive. But how much value do you put on your spare time?

Back in the elbow again

I know this is an old thread, but I figured I would toss in my 2 cents anyway. The yanmar elbow can become fouled after a few years if the boat is in salt water. There is an engine block zinc in the cooling tubes that needs to be changed/inspected along with the mixing elbow. I have had mixed results cleaning the fouling from elbows - especially if there is a lot of corrosion. A guy is selling stainless mixing elbos for 1gm's somewhere in the google search, and that could help solve the corrosion problem (with the elbow anyway).
