yanmar manual. Clymer or Seloc?

Slinky

I sat there for hours, trying to work out which one to buy. Then I did something totally bonkers, but which I have not once regretted... I bought both. One stays at home, the other sits on the boat.

It's actually been a while since I had to look at either of them, mostly been busy with a new sprog leaving Mum & bro to sail the boat. I don't remember one being better than the other... the Selloc I think has the spiffier cover. A friend of ours has borrowed both & been very happy with the info therein.

I'd offer to have a look, but I'm in China, the boat's in Liverpool (oh... your neck of the woods - near Hightown), the manuals are round at Alan's house, & next crew change I'm off to Oz to see the inlaws and then flying back home to look at a new yot in Wales. Might be a while before I can make a comparison!

Cheers

Thanks for that. I will probably go for the Seloc as it's the one i have seen already.
At high water with a strong pair of binoculars I can probably see your boat from my bedroom window. I live in Wallasey overlooking the sea. I assume your boat is at Blundellsands.
At high water the boats rise up and become visible over the bank. It was only when I paddled down the Alt last year and saw the height of the bank that I realised why i couldn't see the boats all the time.

I've got the official Yanmar workshop manual. It has everything you need to work on the 1GM10.

I've no experience of the others but I think it's unlikely they'd have the full detail of the Yanmar manual but I could be wrong. But it does cost £30 from a Yanmar dealer.

What do you need to do? If it's just basic maintenance then the others are probably fine.

I downloaded one from here -another forumite posted the address some time ago. It's not the same as looking through a printed version though, and absolutely no use on the boat!
