Thanks to all who offered advice regarding impeller change intervals for my Yanmar 1GM10.
I changed the impeller at the weekend, using a Yanmar replacement, sealed in a Yanmar packet, from a main agent - cost £20.58 inc vat. Local (Solent) prices were up to £23.50.
The old impeller recovered shape remarkably quickly, and I have had the chance to have a good look at it. This was the original impeller fitted to the engine, when supplied from the Yanmar main agent. Lettering on the impeller shows that it is made by Johnson Pumps. The size corresponds with the Johnson F2 impeller, and has part number:-
Impeller article number 09-1077B-9
Nitrile (oil resistant)

Aquafax are the Johnson main agents. Their website lists part
09-1077B-9 at a price of £11.88 each

So, a thought for those contemplating changing impellers - try buying the "Yanmar" impeller from the Johnson agents!
Unfortunately, I did not check for any lettering on the replacement that might show its provenance (Yanmar, or Johnson), but I will be interested to check when I lay up.
