Whilst winterising my GM10 I was supprised to find the exhaust elbow has failed - the inner tube has detached at the weld, the inner tube has also perferated. The elbow was replaced less than four years as a precaution because then original was 10 years old. Apart from minor pitting the original was fine and i feel the quality of the replacement was poor. Has anyone had similar problems. I am also concerned that seawater may have entered the exhaust port.

If you do end up buying a new elbow, a tip from a marine engineer friend - paint the inside with a few coats of epoxy and it will last 3 or 4 times as long....

Me too! Also, the oil-feed pipe - the one under the waterpump that is vulnerable - 'went' on me 2 weeks ago. That small bit of pipe cost £48 +VAT!!!! Talk about ripoff.
