Yeh looks like a good supplier.

Funny though, on the blurb for 1GM10 it says - easy starting with crank, thanks to decompressor' I have 1GM7 which starts instantly with the key, but nobody has ever managed it with the tiny handle.

Here is a great Yanmar site, even has forums

www.marinedieseldirect.com

Cheap parts too, but you cant order them unless you are in the USA
So if you live in Rip-Off-Britain you'l have to get a pen pal 'stateside' (ugh) Mmmm, idea, lets look on yahoo personals for 'lonely broad intrested in forwarding romantic deisel parts'

Rigger,Lift pump diaphragm not available. You will need a new lift pump. Are you sure its gone? check the valves for debris, holding the flap open?
Bitch to start on the starting handle, comes of the camshaft, this means 2:1 reduction twice as hard. Be careful of bending the end of the cam with your enthusiastic swinging actions! First signs are a leaking oil seal?

I would never say that starting a 1GM10 on the handle is easy, but there is a knack to it and if you have the room to swing the handle it is a practical proposition. The other point about the decompressor lever is that you can use it to take the load off the engine even when starting on the key - which can be very useful if the battery is a bit low!

Haven't tried it on the 3GM in my current boat, though...

Out of interest, any idea how many hours on the 3GM with the failed fuel pump diaphragm?
