Desperately in need a of a good trustworthy engineer to look at an issue with our 2004 Yanmar 500 starboard engine. Any recommendations?

They are all v busy this time of the year could be a few days at least for attendance?
Who are your usual yard / engineers for none DIY er able stuff ?
Sud Marine Diesel on Antibes marina across the road or Ari d Boom in La Rague they have guys in vans there will be transport time for them but the lads are good and have full workshop engineering facilities.
The AdB guys are employees and have no vested interest in up selling , just time + parts on the bill .
Where are you ?
Get the marina booklet from the office always a few engineers in there .

Thanks again! We are in Port Gallice having recently arrived from Mallorca so don’t have any contacts here yet. Time is of the essence so will pick up the phone to both.

A yanmar agent near us is Didier Lacoche who runs his own business Lacoche Marine in St Jean Cap Ferrat. I can highly recommend him, distance will be your issue as well as availability of Didier.

Just in case anyone in need happens across this thread at a later date, I thought I would share the tale and pass on the details. We tried every one of the companies that were recommended by the YBW forum but everyone is just flat out with the holiday season starting in earnest. Sonia at Arie De Boom was most helpful but the wait was still going to be over a week from my first call.
In the end, we were recommended Offshore Marine Services by the captain of the boat next door and managed to get them to come and have a look. The office is run by Adrien who is very helpful and speaks great English, the boss is Stephane who came in person and is very knowledgeable and thorough (also speaks very good English), sadly the diagnosis is not what I wanted to hear and we need some serious work but at least we can adjust our plans aaccordingly.
