I have a Yanmar 2GM with a dodgy Tacho, sometimes it works, sometimes not. I have cleaned up the connections to the sender unit on the flywheel housing with no improvement. Can the sender be easily removed and cleaned or would it need to be replaced??

Or should I be looking elsewhere??

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Its rearely the sender. Its encapsulated. either connection or more likely the instrument
itself (expensive). There are other brands on the market (I believe Faria) which are compatible. (Check EBAY).
