Any tips in removing engine anodes from a Yanmar 3GM? I resorted to a length of pipe on the end of my socket set tommy bar. Result - one bent bar. I know it has to be done because the one on the other engine is 80% wasted.

(This was the one at the side you can get at without removing the filter - the back ones came out easily).

How about one of those 12volt impact drivers, trago and argos sell them for about 29 pounds ?

I have used them one to take wheel nuts off a lorry which was bending t-bars.

User a stronger bar...

I've just this last week replaced the three anodes on my 1990 3GM30. I used a 1/2" drive 24mm socket with a 24" handle instead of the normal ratchet handle. I had to "lean" on this a little bit, but they all came out without any problem.

Cheers,

Jerry
