Hi folks,
Trying to assist a friend with a Yanmar 4LH-HTE....

If you are familar with this engine, you will know that the legends of designers made the impeller almost inaccessible. My friend ended up removing the whole housing to replace the impeller. Now that he wants to put it back together, I suspect there are gaskets / O-rings (??) that are needed to make a seal back to the block.

Would anyone know where i'd find a parts diagram for this area, to be sure?

Many thanks as always!!

It can be done with a lot of patience, simply by removal of the cover plate.
Brute force gets the old one out, lots of Fairy Liquid helps the new one back in.
The genuine Yanmar impeller is joke money, some decent quality clones out there fraction of the cost.
It is a generic item which usually fits just about every pump going, its only the price which seems to vary with what ever they think the market will bear.

I don't know the 4LH, but certainly on the 6LP by far the easiest way to change the impeller was just to remove the whole pump - a couple of bolts and out it pops, and so much easier to play with on the bench than upside-down squeezed beside the engine!
