Subsequent to my previous thread regarding replacement seals/bearings for our waterpump, I've pulled it apart and found the whole thing's knackered; bearings, seal and shaft.
Amongst the replies to my original post was a a comment that O/E on Yanmars supplied in Europe was a Jabsco Pump, whilst those to the USA had a Johnson Pump? Assuming this is the case, would I be correct to assume that a new pump, from either manufacturer would fit my engine? It's only 'connections' to the engine after all are a vee-belt and two bolts on the hanging bracket; I enquire as I've been quoted only a few dollars more for a complete brand new Johnson pump, than the cost of the shaft and rebuild kit appears to be.
