Hi guys,

my Yanmar has the regular two plugs to connect to the loom going to the engine panel, but also has a spare 2 pin plug as well as a single bullet connector just aft of the alternator on the intake side, as far as I know these have never connected to anything, does anyone know what they're for?

thanks!

One might be for a tacho sensor if a tacho is not already fitted

The wiring diagrams in the operation and service manuals show some unused connectors. By referring to the colour coding you may be able to identify them

saildrive switch it looks like, just found the service manual online, didn't realise the whole lot was available, dead handy. What does this saildrive seal switch do then, out of curiosity?

thanks for the help though, problem solved :)

The Yanmar Saildrive has two seals, an inner one visible inside the boat and an outer, main one which you can't see. There's a sensor, not a switch in the void between the seals that sounds an alarm if water leaks past the main seal.

thats cool, thanks for the explanation. All makes sense, and I can safely ignore it all now, much appreciated!
