Yanmar 2GM20 Raw water

Where exactly is the raw water drain plug? The drain plug referred to in the manual is not situated at the bottom of the block, and no water emerged on undoing it. Is there one nearer the impeller housing or does undoing the pump constitute the lowest drain point?

Fresh water or raw water cooled?

You sometimes need to poke something into the drain tap on the block to get anything out, but I believe it is at the lowest point on the water jacket. If it's a fresh water cooled engine, the raw water drain is at the back end of the heat exchanger near the exhaust elbow.

The raw water drain on a raw water cooled 2GM20 is on the starboard side near the dipstick. But as has been said it's difficult to get any water to flow out of it! Try poking a wire into it.
