Dear all - looking for advice or opinions on my engine. Starting to find engine oil in the airfiter which coincided with a most recent engine service in Cork. Engine working OK but shooting out what appears to be either soot or oil in the exhaust. Checking oil levels reveal normal oil but far moe that there should be (way above the max levels on dipstick. Thinking it may be simple like too much oil or is ther something else happening.

Too much oil very probably the cause.

Not sure of the crankcase breathing on that engine but may well be to the air cleaner hence oil being blown into it.

Oil being drawn in and partly burnt would explain the soot or oil in the exhaust.

Dont run it with the oil level above the max mark

Probably (hopefully) just been overfilled but watch the oil level, if it carries on rising it may be diesel from the fuel pump leaking into sump.
Running overfull also risks a runaway engine.
