I'm trying to check the transmission oil on my 1GM. However, after I unscrew the "Oil" bolt (the yellow one labeled Oil on the startboard side) from the transmission, the color of the oil was appeared very fine (like amber). But how could I check the level of it? The bolt I've removed was just like regular bolt without any mark to show the min/max level.

There is a dipstick, I am sure there is..

Looking from the back of the engine (pulley wheel) the dipstick is on the left hand side of the box. It screws in unlike the rubber bung type on the block.

Does the bolt (praying for you) look like something may have fallen off it?

Sounds like its been replaced. The bolt should have a tube extension, the bottom of which (when unscrewed) marks where the top of the oil should be, IIRC. I've found it's not critical, mine is a bit low and has been for at least 10 years, so if you can see some oil in there, I'd say there's plenty.
