Yamaha User Handbook

I recently purchased a secondhand Yamaha 4hp 2 stroke outboard, the previous owner had lost the user handbook so I contacted a local marine engineers who promptly quoted me a cost of £27 incl VAT.they have got to be kidding! all I want is basic info such as plug type/gap, gear oil type/quantity etc and the usual hints on maintenance. Is this the right price? have they quoted for a full workshop manual? are they having a giraffe? I can get two Heynes manuals or a very thick almanac for that price and still have some change

If it is like Yanmar, where I had the same problem, it is because the user handbook is printed in all of the main European languages and you have to pay for them all!

£27 seems typical. But try www.instruction-manuals.co.uk and see if they have anything. Might also be worth phoning around a few other dealers and see if you can get a better price.
