Please can someone tell me what spark plugs I need to buy for a Yamaha 8hp 2 stroke twin? It is not my engine, and I don't know the age but I would call it elderly.

Not 100% since my spares and manual are aboard but did a search on the NGK website and came up with B7HS10 which sounds right.

Thank you very much. Bought a couple on the way home. Got changed, went to my pal's boat, swapped plugs, it started first pull.

The ones that came out were the 6's not 7's. The manual in the chandlers at Kip said that 7's are the right plugs, and I did check on the NGK site as you suggested. Perhaps having the wrong plug, too cool I believe, caused the original sooting problem.
