Yamaha Prime Start System

My new to me Yamaha 75hp 2005 2 stroke seems to be now running very well. It is a sod to start however after not being used for a while. It has the Yamaha Prime start system with the extra fuel pump and wax plug activator device. It also has the manual over ride switch/lever. I think I may have an issue with the wax bead device.

I will first wait for a coldish day and try the manual override to see if I can confirm if the wax thing has the issue.

Any information about this system would be useful.

I have learnt that lifting the fast idle lever is not good with this system.

What was wrong with an old fashioned choke I know not

Does anyone know why a Yamaha 8HP 2T doesn't idle?
I changed the spark plugs, I cleaned the carburettor, the engine runs super ok under load, but I don't succeed at all at idle...

The small idle jet may be blocked from fuel residue.

Idle jet as above, in olden days jet cleaning involved blocking and unblocking the carb mouth with your palm with the engine running. Idea is vacuum sucks jets clean.
Other thing to check is the idle speed too low?
