My motor is a 1986 Yam 50DE 2-stroke, model 6H5-L-321245, serial No. 664-45371-01-00,
It has manual tilt.
I've been looking fora a power tilt unit, part No. 6H5-43840-EK, for a number of years without success. This part doesn't have the twin trim rams, there are loads of those available.
There's a single tilt-ram unit available in the USA now but it's off a 40HP 1997 engine and it's part number is 62X-43800-02-4D
Please can anybody tell me if it'll fit.
Thanks.
I've also heard that these earlier engines don't take too kindly to standard petrol and that is wiser to use premium grade fuel with a higher octane level. Is this true?
