Hello There,

I have just bought a yamaha p45 motor for my gp 14 dinghy. I now think I may have been a bit hasty! The four small holes that are about two thirds of the way up the outer wall of the shaft are out of the water. Will the engine cool ok if this is the case? I measured the shaft distance but not these was I too hasty?

Regards Mark Rogers

I have a yamaha malta 3hp. The cooling water is taken in just underneath the plate above the prop by an impeller which pumps it up a narrow tube around the engine and exits through a small hole at the rear of the engine . The holes further down are for the exhaust to exit. Hope this helps.
