I have a 5HP 2 stroke that I am selling and I have just been asked if it has a charging/lighting coil. It is a 5CS 6E3 model. The ignition is marked CDI and there is an electrical connection block but with no visible output wires, or plug or obvious connections. Any ideas on this?
I am not normally so ignorant about my kit but I bought this as a get you home engine and after tank testing it ran ok wrapped it up, put it in a locker and it has travelled about in comfort for three year or so.

I seem to remember(it was a long while ago now) That when I bought one of those, the lighting/ charge coil was an optional extra and it cost me extra. If I'm correct then the only way to tell is to have a look inside.

As far as I can determine the lighting coil was an optional extra.

If fitted it will be out of sight under the flywheel . A clue to its existence will be a second bundle of (2) wires, probably green, coming from beneath the flywheel in addition to the bundle ( of 4 wires) connecting to the CDI

( what you might find referred to as the "charge coil" is in fact the charge coil for the CDI)

Thanks vics-I was hoping for your input. There are 4 wires coming from the rotor, brown, black, red/white stripe, green/white stripe so I guess no lighting coil.
There is a strange plastic curved tray or holder., see photo. Would that be for a toolroll?
