Could anyone tell me if the water pump repair kit for the F 2.5 A is the same as that for the F 2.5 B? It looks the same, for what that is worth.

the part numbers are different so possibly not
One is 69M-WG078-00-00 the other is 6EG-W0078-00-00
The kit for the F2.5A is listed as unavailable as a Yamaha part
It might be worth looking at the parts list to compare the individual parts. You may not need them all.

Lower leg is identical on 2.5A and B, the powerhead is a different shape, but the engine internals are the same.

There are differences between the water pumps which you can see in the parts catalogues. Some parts are the same but some are different.
