A 703 Side Control came with a Yamaha outboard engine I bought recently. I am surprised there is no rubber or similar gasket to go between it and the mounting surface. In my case, I am using a supplied spacer and would have thought there should have been one to go between that and the side control.
The dealer says there are no gaskets, can anyone confirm whether this is the case or not?
A link to an example of the control (Not where I bought it from)
is at the bottom. Sorry for some reason I don't have the option to embed the link on the tablet I am using.
Also, there is one multiway plug which connects to its mate on the engine and maybe 4 or 5 other wires which I am told are for instrumentation. Is this correct? As the engine is in a well I am tempted to put some simple instrumentation on it if not too expensive. Yam do a Tachymeter and hour metre for £45 or so. Anyone know whether there is something with oil and temperature warning lights as well and whether the engine can provide the necessary information (Yamaha F9.9 JEL).
