Hi and welcome Anthony.
These long range outboard diagnosis probs can be quite difficult.
You will get lots of help on here though.
You say You checked the fuel system.
What made You fitted a new fuel pump?
Was the pump definately US or was this just a remedy suggested by a third party?
Scuse the questions but it bit more info and somebody might be able to help.
As said, there are some clued up Bods on here.

Have you replaced the spark plugs, these could be oilling up, a marine engineer recomended that the plugs should be replaced once a year regardless of use on a 2 stroke
