Yamaha 50 Getol Year Model

Hello,

I'm the owner of a outboard Yamaha 50 GETOL 2 stroke autolube and i am asking if you could help me to date that motor.
It's very difficult because the number plate has been pulled out and only stay the inside serial number close to the cylinder, so no more letter for the year only digits.
The serial number is 501256.

Hello Claude.
50 GETOL? Don,t make sense to Me.
What colour sceme is the eng.
Did You buy it from a "Reconised Source"
Like a Dealer, Aquaintance, recommendation?
Or was it off the back of a Wagon or some shady git in the Pub!
No. plate pulled off.
Makes it mor difficult to identify.
Can the person/people you purchased the motor from throw any light as to the Year of the unit?
Bit more info would be handy

Could be right Oh Flat Lake Boy.
Marinshoppen link was a bit foreign like, but 88 on the G looks about right.
89 on the G in the Car World in the UK.
Then again, One has to consider BST , VAT, The Footsie ,Retail Price Index and the fact that Nobody else has responded. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hello,
G of Getol has no matter with the Year, 50G is the model number.
This model has been produced from 93's until now. The only way to find the right year is to compare the serial number (6 digits) witch the serial of an identified engine.
But i don't know anybody in my neighboorhood owning a such engine.

That's what i did a few weeks ago but the reply was long to come back. I just received their response yesterday.
