My outboard main engine has a problem with the throttle. The lever on the carb that rotates and opens to increase engine speed is to doing i.e.not returning and sometimes staying a little open. This has been causing me untold grief as the failure to reduce speed on the engine means that it sticks in gear. I have tried lubricating the shift which is inside a coil return spring without success. I suspect I will have to take the car off which looks a fiddly job. On the boat now so any bright ideas before I start dismantling it? There is a small plunger info!bed which I think must be an accelerator pump but I do not think it is that?
