Hi All, I want to service my outboard. It has been used for about an hour in the last three years. It started after three pulls last month. I have seen service kits on Ebay for £35+ oil, spark plug, washers. What do the members recommend for a thorough service. RPP

I'm not sure what's in the kits but you can probably get a better deal by buying the parts on eBay. All you really need is the engine oil (500 ml at most), spark plug and some general purpose white marine grease or similar but check the manual for specifics.

Change the oil and plug and remove prop and grease the shaft along with the other moving parts on the pivot/lifting mechanism. The gear oil in the leg can also be changed if it's due and the fuel and air filters could be changed if these are replaceable types but it doesn't sound as if any of this will be necessary.
