After about a 1 month layup I started my Yamaha 15hp 4 stroke engine easily, it ran for about 2 minutes and then stopped.....I could not re-start it.

I thought it was a fuel starvation problem and therefore have cleaned the fuel filter, checked the filter in the fuel tank and changed the fuel line at a cost of £35. I also replaced the plugs with new ones. It still wont start but has fired once.

The primer bulb when squeezed never seems to go hard and so I still believe the engine is not getting fuel through.

Can anyone help me with this one and suggest what I should try next?

Check that fuel is getting through to the carb or at least the filter when you pump the bulb.

Either the bulb is not pumping or you are flooding the carb due to stuck needle valve.
You'd tell from the feel if the bulb was pumping I am sure.

You fitted the new bulb the correct way round?

But check that you have sparks at the plugs. Good fat blue sparks that will jump 3/8"
