Would love to have information like that on my Mac. Unfortunately I could feel my eyes rolling looking at the long list of steps he lists up in order to get there.
Perhaps any of you have seen some ready to use software that does something similar with NMEA2K data?

Oh, what joy.

Makes me feel very old when I recall that not so long ago proper sailors were perfectly satisfied with a compass, a trailing log, a lead line, "feeling" the wind and a capacity for mental arithmetic. Ain't progress wonderful.

Grafana dashboards are pretty easy to set up if you have Signal K running on board. The marinepi-provisioning tool has a convenient way to get both of those to a Raspberry Pi.

We have various more comprehensive dashboards for tracking weather and for instance boat electrical setup. We also installed a custom screen on the nav station to monitor some basic stats:

We already had Signal K on board and integrated with the N2K bus, doing things like anchor watch and true wind calculations, so all of this is just (admittedly nice) extra. Since the dashboards run “on server”, every device connected to the boat WiFi can see them. I usually look through the weather one on my phone before putting foulies on and going on watch.

The absolutely easiest way to get Signal K is via a Victron Cerbo GX. Just couple of buttons to click. Though that doesn’t give you Grafana at the moment…
