Yachtsman’s friend……robotic lawn mower

It is a great help if you want to go sailing for 3 months. All you need is a friendly neighbour who comes and releases it when it has got stuck on a fallen branch.

My neighbour has a robotic lawnmower. It is fascinating to watch it work up to the borders of his garden and then turn away.

I have been wondering: if I cut a hole in our common hedge, would it find its way through into my garden and cut my lawn?
The problem would be if it got hung up on the wrong side of the hedge😂

Why not? We have a robotic indoor cleaner called Ruby that I chose on a punt . “ And I don’t do stairs or work antisocial hours, yeah?” . Pretty handy tbh , impressive work ethic

We have one as well although not “named” I do worry it will escape from the bedroom up stairs and clean it’s self to oblivion off the top stair.

In theory our Chinese made one has onboard sensors to prevent that.

Also being internet enabled it is nice to know that Chinas secret service are monitoring its every move for us, allegedly 😂

Decent battery powered mowers are quite expensive so it makes sense to me to have the robot feature too, electronic chips are cheap!

I could make my first million if I developed a waterproof, anti-gravity version for removing fouling from boat hulls afloat!
They have been trying for aeons…….I dry sailed my last boat from a small yard, she was afloat about a month with no decernablegrowth on a bare non antifoulded hull.I think if I lived in the Uk Iwouldnt antifoul but take time out and lean against some piles and clean off and have a few pints meanwhile. The local racing day boat fleet at Itchenor get Haines the local small yard to pressure wash the hull’s periodically and they have been doing that as far as I recall but probably not with pressure washers

To be fair, he has joined a sailing forum, so that's a start.

It wouldn't do to rush him, such that he might be panicked into buying the first boat that comes along. ;)
God forbid that any of you turned up I would feel duty bound to Show you that it’s not easy……there aren’t westerly Centaurs on every mooring😂 for sale .Boating was restricted to the professional watermen ,fishermen in their local craft around the coast .There were the wealthy who muchlike those at Coes took to the water inthe summer .When I came to Galicia in1981 there were two yachts ……..now there is an awful Marina full of weekenders
