Hi
What do scuttlebutters think of this?
i have a hunter 273 CCS on Windermere and am not practically minded. In the 2 years or so I,ve had the boat the number of jobs, routine and otherwise that should be getting done is slowly growing and I,m worried the boat will fall below the standard it should be kept at.
I,m not lazy just ignorant- i dont even know where i can and cant fix screws into fibreglass, that sort of thing.
One option i thought about was to advertise for someone practically minded to do the jobs WITH me so I can learn in exchange for use of the boat by arrangement.
Do you think this could work?
I,m not an experienced sailor so if he/she wanted to sail with me that would be ok- again it would be a case of brain picking
on my part.I,m not really interested in offsetting the costs although I suppose a formal sharing agreement is another option
Thoughts please otherwise I may have to kidnap Lakesailors family and hold them to ransom!!

Hmm ... sounds like a job for a Friend!! After all, that's what they are there for isn't it? To help you out and you do the same in return ...

I bet there are some youngsters - even perhaps a mid 20s couple - who would give their eye teeth for the chance to sail a decent boat in exchange for some winter weekends work. Advertise in a local freebie paper; contact the local RYA night school tutor, or yacht club notice board?????
