Yachtmaster Offshore qualifications (pre-requisite miles)

Hi, is anyone else in a similar situation wanting to do a YM before the new coming season and needing more miles / time in command? I'm exploring an opportunity to combine costs (boat charter, fuel, exam crew etc). I'm fairly flexible with the arrangements. I'm preparing to take the practical for a YM OS "power" but will also be converting to "sail". Would anyone be interested in joining forces?

I am in the same situation, but in my case it's a question of pretty big mileage to acquire. I still need 1500 nm So I'm looking mostly for a delivery crew opportunity

Hi Gedimin, thank you for the reply. 1500 miles doesn't sound like a lot (I did 6k in just 8 weeks also as crew). This makes it 750 miles which should be possible to do in 3-4 days each way. Could be somewhere nice at that distance (do you ski/snowboard?) and could be shared by 3-4 people, possibly more if someone doesn't need the 2 days 'in command' required for the YM. I'd say up-to 6-8 people? I'm totally up for doing that kind of mileage and I can think of 2-3 boats that are suitable. Now, would you be prepared to pay your share of costs? (I have a job waiting for me to come back with the ticket, so no problems with that) and do we have more people to share with?
