OK, I'll go there if you go to the Scottish Meddling Housewives Forum

I would like to jump in on this one, sorry for continuing the thread drift. I used to know a chap, his wife is a Polish dentist. They have chosen to back to Poland. Why? there is no Tony B liar in Poland.

Also, met a chap in the summer, sailing with a friend, he too is Polish, he was soooo excited as he had been able to secure a job back in Poland, so could rejoin his wife and daughters, what a lovely chap he was, great company.

IMO the majority of UK citizens who are worried most about the East European migration are those who don't want to work. 600, 000 who have come here and found a job have blown the story for the 100,000 or so who say "cant find a job".

Do you mean the 100,000 immigrants? because I thought that unemplyment was over 1,000,000... and that is only the figure that the government dares to declare.

As you say, and as I've said elsewhere..... there is absolutely no need for most people to be unemployed....... take a course as a joiner, plasterer, plumber, builder etc. and, if you are good, you will have more work than you can cope with.

having said that, if a million builders were released onto the marketplace, it might get a bit competitive.... but it might not.

There will also be other trades/jobs in demand, where it's not rocket science to learn.... I just havent given it much more thought.

If I seriously needed to earn some money, (or save myself some money), I would do the builder thing.

or

the errors made by the medical schools and governments, in having insufficient places in our medical schools to meet the demand for doctors/technicians from the NHS.

Thank God for all our immigrants, without which the NHS would be even more inadequate than it is.

You can, of course, make far more money in merchant banking then in medicine.

I heard a report recently that there are 100,000 unemployed who are a 'hard core' of people who refuse to work.

Like you I would and have done anything, I had business go wrong, wrong decision, finished up selling time share and double glazing. It paid the bills and just kept me out of the poo until I got sorted. Its having the will and the desire.
