All the world and his brother (if they subscribe to any activity orientated mag) have received this "offer".
Fine if you want to go to a deserted place in the middle of nowhere in the middle of winter, but at sensible times of the year no different from similar offerings from other providers.
very good but the sting is in the tail on the hard sell at the end during visits to jewellery factory , carpet factory andleather factory . leaveyour money in your luggage , say your cards are out of date . Dont let your wife say she likes anything , try any thing on etc you will find her in a room alone with three men trying to persuade her how cheap it is eg worth 2000 but sale at half price but if you buy two you can have both for 800
Been there, done that and enjoyed it.
We went on the Capadocia tour last winter.
Look carefully at the total costs. Basic £150/person then add food package then add tours then take an optional balloon trip (we didn't)
Total cost was about £800 for the two of us. Standard of hotels varied some outstanding others not so good. Same with the food. Watch at meal times _ would you like a drink, would you like a liqueur? etc then you get the bill at the end of the meal. Wine has a large mark up in the restaurants.
Travel long late night flights with a long stop on the way. You are living from your suitcase and sometimes there is a very early rise to catch your bus and the journeys can be very long.
But the bus driver was very good and very careful, the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and really looked after everyone. The whole tour was quite an enlightening experience and we were taken to places that we would never have expected to experience during our lifetimes.
OK there is the hard sell day of leather, jewellery and carpets but that is to be expected.
Great value for money if you can accept the shortcomings.
We have booked on a similar trip to Troy and other places on the west side of Turkey this December.
We flew Bordeaux to Anytala, extra seats had been fitted to the plane which meant my knees were tucked into my chin for the whole flight. Arrived at 0200 local time. Immediately asked for an extra 200 euro per person for hotel and food package and extra 150 euro per person for entry fees to historic sites and lunch package. Lunch was always taken in the middle of nowhere so there was no alternative. As mentioned the bus trips are long but the bus is clean and air conditioned. The guide and driver could not be faulted. The last 2 days of the trip are purely commercial, carpets, jewelry and leather. Be prepared for very aggressive selling techniques. The flight is paid for by the Turkish government to promote tourism hence its a cheap holiday. As always, you get what you pay for.
