We all like to see pictures of our boats on the covers of magazines.

However, this month my last boat is on the current issue of YM and my new boat on the current issue of YW.

Can anyone else claim a similar worthless record?

it shows that YM really speaks to you and that you and the staff are singing from the same song sheet

what is your next boat?

they are holding the presses for your decision

I can't compete with that but I did win letter of the month in YM, YW and ST. I've nearly finished all the bottles so I guess I should be thinking of putting pen to paper again!

I got quoted in PBO in January but Yottin mumfley completely disregarded the fact in their "Brightlingsea" feature the same month that a brand new Yacht Club had formed in their "Featured" Destination. Come on Dick Durham, this is real news not just a rejigging of East Coast Pilot..........

Does this make me famous ???

KATE did Classic Boat and Wooden Boat covers and was featured in articles in the same month as far as I recall.

I've had the cover photographs of Yachting Monthly and Classic Boat at the same time...Yachting Monthly and Motorboats Monthly at the same time...Yachting Monthly and Motor Boat and Yachting at the same time......and Motorboats Monthly and Motor Boat and Yachting at the same time...all on different occasions

I've yet to have three cover photos of three magazines of the same cover date though :(

But I'm working on it....

My boat has been on the cover of Yachting Monthly twice :)

DickDurham did put up a sort of cartoon of mine. Which curiously I wS more proud of than a more recognisable form of fame- one has to have some pictorial anonymity when performing close encounters with a long keeler:D

Surely you are disbarred from this as you have insider information? :p

So that really only leaves PBO for your next new boat.

Unless you venture onto the dark side .....

A long way from my boat! :(

I did make it to the front page of the Sunday times once. Standing on the foredeck of a vd Stadt Pacific 52 as we came into the jetty in front of the Royal Cape Yacht Club.

The banner headline was 'Local businessman runs brothel from yacht'.

No I wasn't the person in question, just crew and the whole episode was a bit of business smear sabotage by one of the owners competitors.

Got me a few laughs when I visited client sites in the week or two following :)

How excited can I get by my two YM moments??

a) A letters page entry!
b) xyachtdave's scuttlebutt quote regarding 'sailing books for children'

Small beer I know.....but we all need to start somewhere!
