Gardening seems like a never ending self imposed sentence of hard Labour ,been cutting through the rain forest this morning, with the thought tat next year it will be back the same whilst yachting involves fiddling about a lot, chatting and occasional drinks mainly sitting down.I suggested to the wife we abandon maintenance of 80% of the estate but she will not hear of it,this whilst she plays crossword son the internet!

Sociable gardeners get allotments. Sociable sailors don't do much sailing.

I have a model sailor's garden; there are almost no flowers but plenty of weeds.

Her garden, my boat when it comes to maintenance.

Same here ... then she passed away and left it to me to do. I tried bribing the kids but they are "too busy" to do the garden.

Just spent the morning hacking stuff back. I may give in and get a company in to take all the shrubs back to ground level and turn the lot. Or sell and eve it to the next people!

I never tire of boat work.
