Epifanes varnish is about twice the price of other yacht varnishes by well -known makers, such as Rustins. Is it really twice as good, or are they trading on the name?

Varnishes that are called yacht varnish, like rustins etc. Are not proper yacht varnish, they dont last! They are for your average house etc. Inside! But I guess you could use them inside a boat.
To answer your question, Yes they are twice as good. IMHO.

I can honestly say that Epifannes is twice as good!
My spars have now been done with Epifannes after a distaster with an International porduct. Even my interior is done in Epifannes rubbed effect varnish. A delight to apply.

I'm in agreement with Scotty and Roach, Epifanes is best and twice as good as the rest. I wont put anything else on my boat paint or varnish.

'Yacht Varnish' is a generic term for a particular colour of varnish. It doesn't imply any suitability for use on yachts,
