I have just heard from the Harbourmaster at work that 2 sailors were picked by a ship that came in from a liferaft off Yarmouth.

Anyone know any details of the incident, I am currently having a weeks sailing out of Wells destroyed by the weather, still safe and sound.

Dutch yacht Nordwind, towed into Levington by Aldeburgh lifeboat, escorted by Harwich lifeboat, following grounding off Aldeburgh during light(;)) breeze on Friday. Lost rudder, both fore and main sails shredded, pulpit destroyed (Might have been whilst attempting to rig towing line). All crew safe. I believe the SAR helicopter tried to winch off one injured crew member, but were having some trouble in the weather conditions.
I believe the crew had crossed from N Holland, and the weather beat them to landfall. Rumour has it they'd been on passage for 48 hours, though their radio procedure was excellent, and showed little no signs of panic, from the few messages I could pickup.

Another example of the rescue services responding in extreme conditions, and persevering to gain a good conclusion. Well done to all of them. Very impressive.
